They couldn’t wait…….anymore

Yeah, they were attacking a piece of the not cooled yet, lower-fat banana bread, from Veganomicon, made popular by VeggieGirl. This banana bread is awesome, super tasty with the correct level of sweetness (my family do not have a sweet tooth), tested and approved by David, my girls (attacking the second loaf I made this week), his colleagues and our friends, all non-vegan and happy omnivores!

Trust me, this is not at all like what we assume vegan and/or healthy bakes to be like, chewy and plastic-ky tasting, if you know what I mean. It was the perfect banana bread for us – moist and tender, and extremely flavourful! Even the most fussy fella in the house love it. My girls requested to have the last two pieces left for lunch, together with a glass of milk. They were both beaming away while eating it. It was such a funny sight! Hey, if lower-fat bakes can taste this good, that even my kids get excited over them, why not, right? This is going to be the banana bread for the family, till I find another recipe, that is even lower-fat than this and taste just as good or better, haha! The recipe for this super yummy delicious, low fat banana bread can be found here. Go on, try it out, at least once, to see whether you like it. If you do, then your heart, waist and thighs will be rejoicing. Oh, I have made it plain, minus the peanut butter and milk, the first time and it tasted just as good. You will need to up the oil to a quarter cup then.

My second loaf for the week, with a piece of the sliced banana topping stolen by my younger daughter.

If I were there, I would do the same….who wants to wait after smelling the aroma of banana bread :p

Thanks for trying the Red Cabbage Salad recipe. Hope you like it. Did you use the whole cabbage? If not, what happened to the rest? I use
the remainder to cook red cabbage soup ;p

    Tigerfish,
The red cabbage salad was very good, even the girls love it! Red cabbage soup sounds like a good idea, but I can’t find the recipe from your blog?
